What is Industry 4.0?
Industry 4.0, or “the fourth industrial revolution”, is an umbrella term that refers to the rapid digitalisation and automation of conventional industries. Several emerging or new technologies and concepts contribute to the reshaping of how work is done, which includes but is not limited to the sharing economy, driverless vehicles, machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive technology, 3D-printing, and more. For Singapore’s workforce to leverage these new opportunities, it becomes crucial to advance, upskill, and retrain PMEs in order to meet new demands in their respective industries.
