Joining Forces in Emergency Response: Exercise Gallus X

08 Nov 2024

On Nov 8, ST Logistics’ Public Sector Vertical joined forces with Singapore’s Animal & Veterinary Service, National Parks Board and Singapore Food Agency in the Ground Deployment Exercise (GDX), code-named Exercise Gallus X. The exercise simulated a high pathogenicity avian influenza outbreak at a local poultry farm, testing our rapid response capabilities to protect Singapore’s public health.

Reflecting on the day, ST Logistics Ops Manager Melvin Chan highlighted the valuable opportunity to demonstrate ST Logistics’ readiness for emergency response, showcasing the team’s ability to mobilise and deliver support swiftly.

During GDX, our team managed critical support tasks, from delivering essential supplies to facilitating personal protective equipment and personnel decontamination.

“With this GDX, it was a good hands-on experience to test our SOP and identify any areas for improvement for SFA, NParks and ST Logistics,” added Ops Executive Jadis Quek.

Exercises like these underscore the vital role of logistics in Singapore’s public health response, with the STL and our Public Sector Vertical standing as critical partners to Government agencies. We are dedicated to ensuring a high-assurance, rapid-response logistics capability that Singapore can trust to support our Government at all times.
