Advancing Supply Chain Digitally: STL-SCEU Learning Festival 2024

19 Jul 2024

Celebrating our second year as SkillsFuture Queen Bee for Supply Chain, ST Logistics is proud to announce the signing of two MOUs with the Institute of Technical Education, Singapore and Singapore Institute of Technology at our STL-SCEU Learning Festival 2024, themed “Advancing Supply Chain Digitally,” held today at the Lifelong Learning Institute.

At the Learning Festival, we were honoured to invite NTUC Deputy Secretary-General and Senior Minister of State, Desmond Tan, as Guest of Honour and witness of the MOU signing.

“I want to commend and acknowledge the hard work ST Logistics has put in not just in business transformation but more importantly in workforce transformation,” said DSG Tan in his speech.

“Last year, I learned about ST Logistics’ skills allowance scheme, which had a 75 per cent adoption rate. Today, it has increased to 90 per cent. This scheme is a model I cite frequently when discussing workforce upskilling,” he added.

”I must say that ST Logistics has been quite progressive and ready to continue to recognise workers’ skillsets through very tangible schemes that motivate workers to upgrade… I also want to commend ST Logistics for your foresight in not just upgrading your current set of workers but also investing in your future generations of supply chain professionals.”

Our MOUs with ITE and SIT are significant leaps towards grooming the next generation of supply chain talents.

The ITE Work-Study Diploma offers hands-on learning through structured on-the-job training, boosting students’ capabilities via industry collaborations with ST Logistics. Our MOU with SIT allows eligible students to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Infrastructure and Systems Engineering via micro-credentials, introduced to enhance flexibility and relevance in education pathways.

CEO Loganathan Ramasamy said: “The programme is designed for working adults and offers flexibility to upgrade and stay relevant. It also enhances recruitment, retention and upskilling efforts. I encourage our partners to consider enrolling eligible staff in this programme.”

Special appreciation to our distinguished speakers and panellists: Mr Saj Kumar (Regional Director, Microsoft APAC), Mr David Bergendahl (Regional Director, Crayon), Dr Soon Joo Gog (Chief Skills Officer, SkillsFuture SG), our CTO Mr Eric Sim, Mr Amos Tan (Chief Core Skills Officer, NTUC LearningHub), Dr Aik Beng Ng, PhD (Regional Manager, Nvidia AI Technology Centre), and Mr Benjamin Mah (Co-Chairman, SGTech Talent & Capabilities Committee).

This event also provided an invaluable networking opportunity, allowing industry partners to connect, collaborate and share insights on advancing the supply chain sector.
